Description
The Grogue is the quintessential popular drink in Cape Verde, produced amidst landscapes of mountains, desert plateaus or lush valleys where villages and terraces of sugar cane grow cling. On his organic 30ha, Manuel Barbosa Amado runs the Monte Negro distillery where he produces a grog from a 300-liter still distillation heated over a bare fire. A tradition that leads to a subtle cocktail of sugar canes and fruity notes of exceptional purity.
