Description

A semi-sweet red wine made from the renowned Pinot Noir grape.
This is a classic Burgundy variety reimagined with grapes from the Mala Hora vineyard. Thanks to an increasingly warm climate, Zakarpattia produces outstanding red wines, including classic European grape varieties.

  • Pale ruby color.
  • Aroma filled with nuances of fig, date, and strawberry jam.
  • Sweet taste with a distinct dominance of ripe plum.
  • Pairs beautifully with baked cheesecake topped with berry sauce.

Wine of Ukraine

Located in the Western Ukraine, in the area of Carpathian Mountains where Ukraine
borders Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Historically known as Transcarpathia, a
historic vinicultural land. Hillsides of the volcanic Carpathians, a lot of the sun and
sufficient water amount predetermined the development of winemaking on these lands
since ancient times.
Chateau Chizay was built in 1995 after decades of hard times for Ukrainian winemaking
during communist time of USSR. However, it has deep connection to local ancient winemaking
tradition, being built at the site of a historical winery from the 17th century in the
middle of a winemaking valley named Chizay.
