Description
Dry white aged wine from Furmint grapes.
- Its intense golden color sets the stage for a serious wine that has spent 9 months in oak barrels.
- The aroma is rich, with vanilla and ripe peach taking the lead, but with patience, one can discern an entire orchestra of notes, including mineral tones! Acacia, peach blossom, a hint of sponge cake with dried apricot, and Maasdam cheese – you’ll uncover them and want to continue exploring.
- In contrast to its captivating aroma, the taste is invigorating – structured with a backbone.
Wine of Ukraine
Located in the Western Ukraine, in the area of Carpathian Mountains where Ukraine
borders Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Historically known as Transcarpathia, a
historic vinicultural land. Hillsides of the volcanic Carpathians, a lot of the sun and
sufficient water amount predetermined the development of winemaking on these lands
since ancient times.
Chateau Chizay was built in 1995 after decades of hard times for Ukrainian winemaking
during communist time of USSR. However, it has deep connection to local ancient winemaking
tradition, being built at the site of a historical winery from the 17th century in the
middle of a winemaking valley named Chizay.
