Produce of Greece

George Skouras embarked on his wine-making career in his father’s garage in Argos, with no land and no gear, leasing vineyards and renting winery equipment from other wine producers in Nemea and using manual bottling machines. Nevertheless, even at that point, his one and only aspiration was high quality wine production.

Today, Domaine Skouras owns vineyards in Argolida, in the Corinthia region and, of course, in Nemea. At the same time, in order to keep up with market demand, as well as achieving product consistency, the Domaine collaborates with select, quality-oriented vine growers, under the expert guidance of the Skouras viticulture team.

Domaine Skouras currently cultivates the indigenous varieties grown in Argolida, Corinthia, Mantinia and Nemea, which are Roditis, Alepou and Moscofilero (all pink-skinned grape varieties, but usually used in white wine production), as well as reds like Agiorgitiko and, more recently, Mavrostifo of Argos, an old and almost extinct variety of the region. In addition, cosmopolitan varieties are also cultivated, such as Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot.
